Context and Problem: A cheese factory facing quality issues that traditional methods couldn’t detect was looking for a solution to eliminate a thin residual product layer remaining in the manufacturing tanks over time. This layer was invisible to the naked eye, making current cleaning operations ineffective.
Solution: The cheese factory adopted the BioDtex UV lamp from Bioscan, a tank inspection company, to improve the detection of this thin layer and control the cleaning and maintenance operations of the tanks.
Project Execution
- Inspection of tanks with the BioDtex UV lamp: BioDtex technology which is used for Biofilm detection allowed the detection of the thin residual product layer, even in hard-to-clean areas.
- Increased cleaning operations: After UV detection with BioDtex Lamp additional cleaning methods were implemented to ensure the thin layer was removed.
